Who we are · Kijaguzo Family Development Initiative

Help people help themselves.

Our mission at the Kijaguzo Family Development Initiatives in Uganda is to enable families to secure their livelihoods independently and on their own terms. A key focus is vocational training for young people who cannot afford to go to school.

We work entirely on a voluntary basis: every cent donated reaches the people in Uganda one to one.

Our story

The project was launched in 2022, out of a collaboration with supporters from Germany. It has grown step by step ever since.

Expansion

In the face of continuing challenges, we expand the project – focusing on sustainable initiatives that give families a viable livelihood in the long term.

Our approach

What drives us

We work above all for young people, giving them vocational skills that help their families support themselves. Our efforts aim to strengthen this community and to give it the tools it needs for an independent life.

Organisation

The project is administered by our board members and sub-project leaders in Uganda. The body is led by our project manager Solome. She agrees the annual budget with a board member in Germany and is responsible for budget planning, reporting and controlling across all sub-projects.
